Footwear Inspection

Footwear visual inspection is a key process that directly checks aesthetic defects and fit-related issues that automated machines may find difficult to detect.

1. Overall Symmetry and Shape

  • Left-right symmetry: Checks whether shoe height, upper cutting-line position, eyelet count and spacing are consistent.
  • Heel alignment: Checks whether the heel counter stands upright without leaning to one side.
  • Material defects: Checks for leather wrinkles, scars, color shading and contamination.
  • Box matching: Confirms that the tag information on the shoe box, including color, size and model name, matches the actual product.

Inspection Method and Procedure

Footwear inspection 2

Focused visual check: Scratches, stains, wrinkles, glue stains, leather cracks, deformation and left-right imbalance.

Footwear inspection 3

Focused visual check: Scratches, stains, wrinkles, glue stains, leather cracks, deformation and left-right imbalance.

Footwear inspection 4

Information and component check: Size label matching, barcode and SKU verification, left-right pair matching, box and component inspection.

👉 Key On-site Checkpoints, Covering Most Consumer Claims

✔ Left-right mismatch
✔ Poor outsole adhesion
✔ Visible contamination
✔ Fit discomfort factors

2. Stitching and Internal Finishing

  • Stitching and bonding: Checks for broken threads, skipped stitches and glue overflow.
  • Internal protrusions: Checks whether wrinkled lining, sharp loose threads or rough seam lines could irritate the foot.
  • Insole attachment: Confirms that the insole is firmly attached to the bottom without lifting or shifting.

3. Durability and Chemical Safety

  • Physical testing: Flexing tests, bonding-strength measurement, abrasion resistance and slip-resistance testing.
  • Chemical safety: Analysis of hazardous substances, including formaldehyde, azo dyes, hexavalent chromium and phthalate plasticizers.
  • Needle detection: Full inspection for remaining metal fragments using a needle detector.
  • Waterproof performance: Checks whether water enters the shoe during repeated flexing while immersed in water.

4. Size, Shape and Function Inspection

📏 Size and Shape Inspection

Footwear inspection 6

Specification check: Size accuracy, including length and width, together with function and durability checks.

Footwear inspection 7

Physical performance: Flexing test, peel strength, slip resistance and abrasion resistance.

Footwear inspection 8

On-site simple tests: Flex test, basic adhesion check, fit discomfort factors, stitch-spacing consistency, broken threads, loose threads and outsole bonding condition.

Footwear inspection 9

Final shape check: Length, width, left-right symmetry and shape retention.
