Textile Physical Testing

We assess the physical performance and durability that products must withstand during everyday wear and in specialised environments.
Through internationally recognised standards such as ISO and ASTM, we provide objective data that demonstrates the value of manufactured products.

1. Mechanical Strength Testing

01

Tensile Strength and Elongation

The maximum load and extended length are measured as the fabric is pulled until it breaks, allowing the basic structural strength of the material to be assessed.

02

Tearing Strength

Resistance to tearing is measured. This is a key indicator for products where durability is critical, including outdoor apparel and workwear.

03

Bursting Strength

Multi-directional pressure is applied to materials such as knit fabrics to determine the point at which they burst, verifying the strength of stretchable materials.

2. Abrasion and Surface Durability

01

Abrasion Resistance

Repeated friction is applied to measure the number of cycles required for yarn breakage, helping to predict the practical service life of the product.

02

Pilling and Snagging

Pilling and yarn snagging are graded to determine how well the product maintains its initial appearance quality.

3. Dimensional Stability Testing

01

Dimensional Change Rate

The degree of shrinkage or extension after washing and drying is calculated to determine whether the product is likely to lose its intended shape.

02

Appearance Smoothness and Torque

Wrinkling after washing and seam twisting, known as torque, are assessed to verify the commercial quality of the product.

4. Seam and Structural Strength

01

Seam Strength

The sewn areas of finished products are pulled to identify the point at which sewing threads break or the fabric ruptures, confirming product safety.

02

Seam Slippage Resistance

The movement and opening of yarns under applied force are measured to identify potential causes of defects by material type at an early stage.

Industrial Value of Physical Testing

These physical data points serve as an essential checklist when establishing factory audit procedures and quality control systems. Accurate and reliable test results help prevent disputes between manufacturers and buyers, while providing a foundation for safe and verified products for end consumers.
